Welcome to Haven Highlights, our new series where we introduce you to the people who make the HOT HAVEN community feel like home. For our first edition, meet Mayle Perez-Crespo.

Full Name
Mayle Perez-Crespo

Where are you from?
I was born in Havana, Cuba, and spent most of my life between Miami, Florida and Hamden, Connecticut before making San Diego my home.

How long have you lived in San Diego?
I’ve lived in San Diego for almost five years.

What do you love most about living in San Diego?
It feels like everyone here is chasing sunshine and feeling their best, and I love that. San Diego has a way of making you want to slow down, get outside, and take care of yourself.

What’s your favorite HOT HAVEN service and why?
The Lymphatic Cleanse is hands down my favorite service. Whenever I’m feeling run down, dealing with brain fog, or just need a reset, it’s my go-to.

Even though the treatment feels incredibly gentle, I always leave feeling lighter, refreshed, and more clear-headed. It’s one of my favorite ways to slow down, recharge, and take care of myself.

What do you enjoy most about working at HOT HAVEN?
My favorite part is definitely the relationships I’ve made. I’ve met so many incredible people through my coworkers, our leadership team, and our clients.

Every day, I get to meet someone new, hear a little of their story, and watch them leave feeling lighter, happier, and more like themselves. Being a small part of someone’s wellness journey and seeing the positive impact it has on them is what makes this job so rewarding.

What are you currently working on outside of HOT HAVEN?
I’m currently a 4th-year naturopathic medical student at Bastyr University and will be graduating in 2027.

Along with the busy schedule that comes with medical school, I’m also seeing patients in clinic, where I work with people facing autoimmune conditions, cancer, and women’s health concerns.

One of my favorite parts of medicine is that no two days are the same. Every patient brings a different story and perspective, and I’m always learning something new. It’s what keeps me excited and reminds me why I chose this path.

What are you most passionate about?
I’m passionate about helping people get to the root cause of their health concerns.

One thing I’ve learned while working with patients is that sometimes less really is more. My goal is to help people feel heard, empowered, and confident in their ability to take control of their health.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
You’ll usually find me at the beach, at the gym, spending time with friends, or at Bible study. I love staying active, meeting new people, and making the most of my free time.

Favorite TV show or movie?
House of Dragons.

Favorite restaurant or coffee shop in San Diego?
Lofty Coffee.

Favorite way to unwind after a busy week?
A beach day with a good book, sunshine, and nowhere to be.

Favorite wellness habit or self-care ritual?
Going to the gym, spending time in the sauna, and finishing with red light therapy. It’s my favorite way to recharge after a long day.

If you could spend one perfect day in San Diego, what would it look like?
Slow mornings are a luxury for me, so my perfect day would start with coffee and worship music before heading to the beach with a good book.

I’d spend the day soaking up the sun, reading, relaxing, and ending it with dinner surrounded by friends.

What’s one fun fact most people don’t know about you?
In fifth grade, one of my drawings was picked to be featured in the statewide school calendar. I still like to think I have a creative side.

Is there anything you’d like the HOT HAVEN community to know about you?
I’m incredibly grateful to be part of the HOT HAVEN family. Whether I’m here or in clinic, my goal is always the same: to help people feel healthier, more confident, and genuinely cared for.
